For many years School Secretaries were denied the same basic employment rights as other school staff.
The Fórsa union commissioned us to design a campaign to win equal treatment for school secretaries by rallying support and leading calls for a change in department policy.
As a result, we developed the SOS- Save Our Secretaries campaign.
As part of the campaign, we created a mailing to be sent to every school principal in the country arguing the case for school secretaries and directly asking for their support.
Primary and secondary teachers also received a wide range of campaign materials such as badges stickers and posters and were asked to display them prominently in their school.
At the same time a wide-ranging social media campaign was undertaken to raise public awareness and support.
This nationwide campaign successfully secured equal treatment for all school secretaries and ancillary staff.
