Persuasion Republic is Ireland’s leading full-service fundraising and social marketing agency. 

We partner with excellent progressive organisations – charities, NGOs, cultural groups and public bodies – on vital social issues helping them to fundraise, build awareness and support for their work and programmes. We help our clients across four key areas:

General fundraising including direct mail, EDM, DRTV, video, community, events and digital

Philanthropy, major gift and legacy fundraising

Fundraising planning and strategy

Public advocacy campaigning

2. THE ROLE YOU’LL PLAY

Your title: Copywriter
Who you report to: Creative Director
Salary band: To be negotiated, depending on experience.

As a Copywriter, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling messaging across various mediums, including direct mail appeals, digital content such as emails, and Electronic Direct Mail (EDMs). Your words will have the power to inspire action, drive donations, and raise awareness for important causes.

3. YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop compelling and emotive copy for direct mail appeals, ensuring messages resonate with the target audience and effectively convey the mission and impact of our clients.
  • Write engaging content for digital platforms, including email campaigns, newsletters, and EDMs, maintaining consistency in tone and messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualise and execute campaigns that capture the attention of donors and supporters, driving engagement and participation.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the needs, challenges, and aspirations of the target audience, infusing empathy and authenticity into every piece of content.
  • Adapt writing style and tone to suit different communication channels and audience segments, optimising content for maximum impact and response rates.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in fundraising and marketing, continuously seeking innovative ways to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Proofread and edit copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with brand guidelines, maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism in all deliverables.
  • Represent and promote Persuasion Republic in a proud and positive way in all settings and at all times.

4. IS THIS YOU?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Copywriter, preferably within an agency setting or nonprofit sector.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and calls to action.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, with a passion for making a positive impact through storytelling.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing software and content management systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing creative ideas and insights to achieve shared objectives.
  • Fluent English.

5. CONTRACT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Full-time position subject to performance with a six-month probationary period.

Hours of Work: 35 hours with some out-of-work hours required on an occasional basis.

People are encouraged to attend in the office but we operate a blended workplace/WFH system for all staff.
